Him catching passes in every game & justifying a new contract based on those stats is probably the most important move he can make. If we had picked up the option, he'd miss 3-5 games assured this season. No option = 100% on the field unless he's immobile, even then he might try to make the field.

He's taking nothing for granted and focusing on his game, I'm serious this is a different Sammy. Health willing, this will be his year. Sammy has 2 great games to start the season. Then he sucks for the next 3 and we find out that he was playing hurt. He sits the next 3 so the season is half over and we've gotten 2 good games out of him. He misses another 3 before the season ends.

I think the pessimists are being too hard on him. The foot was essentially one injury that took two operations and a long time to heal up. Being gimpy because of the foot made him vulnerable to other nuisance/nagging injuries. Other WRs who have had a similar injury to the foot eventually recovered and were productive afterward, without lingering issues. It is not unreasonable to think Sammy may have reached that point. My prediction is he'll miss a couple games, but have and overall breakout season.
