NO one can question Tate's athleticism going back to when the Patriots drafted him.

His problem is route running and consistency.

Are they practicing Hail Mary passes?

          Wut?

I watched him play for 5 years with CIN. Coach-For-Life Marvin never gave him much of a chance.

            As a WR -- NO

Same as in NE...He could NOT crack the line up as a WR. Merely as a KR.

It wasn't a question of cracking the line-up. It was weirdness of Marvin Lewis. When he played at WR , he performed. Fans would cry "why not play him more? Marvin's response? His famous arrogant smirk.

Lewis is now the longest-tenured HC, despite never winning a single play off game. Why? Because he is loyal to the owner, and that is what comes first with the owner.

An owner who almost never eats a contract, to get a better player.

However, Belly-Chick made the same decision when they got rid of him and the Bengals took him on.

                Tate is a great athlete.

                He is a crappy WR.

                He is a decent KR.

Er, I wasn't touting Tate as a WR starter. What I am saying is that he is a gamer, and if you have him on your roster and pencil him as only a KR, it's wrong.

Put him in pass situations, time to time. Toss a ball his way. Fresh legs. Been in the league for a while so has the experience.

Knocking a wr's route running is meaningless with a club that has had a QB merry-go-round the past several years. TT and his crazy chicken running around the barnyard style of play..

And as it stands today, BUF's WR roster is beyond iffy.

Regarding his ST play, in his 4 years with them, he left CIN as their all-time leader in combined kick and punt return yards with 4,928 yards.
