Long snapper Jon Dorenbos to undergo open heart surgery

Former Bill long-snapper Jon Dorenbos was recently traded from the Eagles to the Saints. Apparently the in-coming physical revealed an aortic aneurysm that requires immediate surgery. Prayers for our old friend.

Payton credited Saints physician Dr. John Amoss, who first discovered the red flag and "basically saved his life with his findings." Dorenbos, 37, will require surgery "pretty quickly" and will be placed on the non-football injury (NFI) list.

Some things are just bigger than the football we all fight about.

True that. That's why finding it is being called a life-saver. The rule of thumb is when an aneurysm is 5 cm or greater you get surgical repair. My maternal grandfather had one also. They can run in families. And cigarette smoking makes them worse. If your father has had one you should be screened yourself at some point.

Thank God they found it now. He's easy to like. Love his magic act.

            Best wishes.

Yep. He appeared on America's Got Talent(and finished in 3rd place in season 11).

John Hemingway(facing certain death): I want to see Buffalo win the Super Bowl.
David Coltrane(threatening John): Nobody's going to live that long, pal.

Trade apparently will be rescinded. But it doesn't sound like that this will bother Jeffrey Lurie at all.

Jon Dorenbos trade may be rescinded
