The Bills added a veteran free agent to their linebacking corps on Tuesday, and a receiver to their practice squad.

Buffalo’s front office made a couple of roster moves on Tuesday. One to their active roster and the other to their practice squad. The Bills signed veteran free agent LB Jelani Jenkins.
Jenkins, 25, signed with the Oakland Raiders in free agency last spring. The fifth-year veteran was competing to become the starting weak side linebacker for the Raiders before he was placed on injured reserve by the club on Sept. 2nd. Two days later he reached an injury settlement and became a free agent.
A former fourth-round pick of the Miami Dolphins, Jenkins was a full-time starter for the Dolphins in 2014 and 2015 and still made seven starts for Miami last season.
Jenkins brings some experienced depth to Buffalo’s linebacking corps. To make room for him on the roster the Bills released CB Greg Mabinhttp://www.buffalobills.com/assets/nflimg/icon-article-link.gif (http://www.buffalobills.com/team/roster/greg-mabin/0948cced-0d8a-4252-bc31-8afb2620df18/).
WR Dupre added to practice squad
Buffalo also made a change to their practice squad, signing WR Malachi Dupre. Dupre was seventh-round pick out of LSU by the Green Bay Packers this past April, but did not make the Packers 53-man roster.
Dupre (6-3, 195) appeared in 36 games in his college career and finished at LSU with 98 receptions for 1,609 yards and 11 touchdowns. He earned second team All-SEC honors as a junior in 2016.
To create a spot on the practice squad for Dupre, the Bills released WR Daikiel Shortshttp://www.buffalobills.com/assets/nflimg/icon-article-link.gif (http://www.buffalobills.com/team/roster/daikiel-shorts/ddcfa848-edd6-4876-9131-9d1e18943fa2/).

I think Jenkins is a pretty decent addition for an in-season move.

At least they continue to make depth improvements.

DraftBoy had Jenkins targeted as a free agent acquisition early in the year.

VERY surprised they are going so heavy at LBer and are down to four corners. Questionable roster management IMO...risky.

Could be good add, if, big if, he can stay healthy which is worrisome. He's been hurt a lot since 2014.

I like the addition of Dupre more than Jenkins. Explosive athletic ability.

As long as Taylor is taking the snaps none of our WR's should scare anybody.

Could Jenkins eventually be a starter?

Hell, with this roster Dupre could.

So the roster is a little thin on the backside. I think its great that McDermott purged so much of the old team. That's why I tried not to get to hung up on any one player. I got over the loss of Watkins and Gilmore pretty fast. There is only one guy on this roster that I think needs to be nailed down in Buffalo. LeSean McCoy is a star. Sorry to Kyle Williams, but at his age his loss just won't mean a lot. They will replace him through the draft next year - if Adolphus Washington isn't the answer. So no disrespect to Williams. Everyone else is replaceable. The next most important guy may be Cordy Glenn.

I would have to agree, but I have a feeling if Kyle is not going to be retained he will retire.

Maybe. I think he's a better overall player than Humber. If he was here during training camp he may have won the WLB role.

Jenkins is horrible, I'd rather see Humber starting (yes he's THAT bad)

Disappointing. I was hoping he could catch on to replace Humber.

Well the Bills worked out two punters this week so maybe we're adding to our ST depth!

Why no WR workouts. Buffalo would be such a good gig. No targets = long check cashing career.

There aren't enough kickers on the roster. Everyone knows a good team carries at least 3 active legs on the 53 man roster.

If the Bills want to make the playoffs ever again, they should really ponder the benefits of having 106 active legs on the roster.
