Don’t look now, but the Buffalo Bills have the second-best defense in the NFL.

The Bills are currently near the top of the NFL in not only average yards allowed, but in nearly every defensive category, as well. Buffalo is 5th against the run and 10th against the pass, a far cry from where Rex Ryan had this team over the past two seasons.
Although Bills’ defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier stated he doesn’t watch much of the offense during the game, he admitted it’s discouraging when your team isn’t winning.
“You’re in it to win it, and when we don’t win, there’s not a whole lot you can get excited about in our business,” said Frazier.
“It’s all about winning the games, that’s what we work so hard for, going all the way back to the offseason program, training camp, and these practices that we have, it’s all about winning. If we have a poor performance and we win, that’s a happy locker room. It’s all about winning.”

All this 'winning' talk yet we intentionally or incompetently wont run an offensive scheme that puts points on the board.


The defense has been encouraging. We've eliminated a lot of the coaching damage Wrecks and Rob did.

Certainly promising, though I'd like to see a bit more given how bad the Jets are.

I thought the Carolina game proved a few major things about the Defense.

1.) If you are going to have your QB stand in there, you better have extra protection, or he's going to be blasted play after play.

2.) The safeties are better than we thought (so far). Poyer especially

3.) The ability to rotate D-lineman in and out consistently paid off huge. Having fresh guys in there most of the time really wares an O-line down.

4.) The ability to bend but not break. Holding teams to 3 is huge, especially on the road.

Newton was limited badly in week 1, and still looked like dog garbage in week 2. Frankly the panther's offense looks flat out offensive. And the Jets are of course the Jets. Let's give it a few more weeks when we play some real offenses and see where we stand.

Newton was limited badly in week 1, and still looked like dog garbage in week 2. Frankly the panther's offense looks flat out offensive. And the Jets are of course the Jets. Let's give it a few more weeks when we play some real offenses and see where we stand.

This is where I am at. I think the defense is improved but the question is how much. Secondary has not been tested yet.

Does it matter how good the D is? The O is so bad that we aren't going to win many games anyway.

If our defense was good enough, 3 points would be enough to win every game.

I'm not convinced that we've replaced him. It was two games- one against the Jets and the other with a QB coming off shoulder surgery
