    Luke Falk tonight

    Hey y'all,

I don't know if anyone is up on the East Coast but as a San Diego resident I get to watch some left coast late games. Luke Falk is outplaying Darnold tonight so far IMO and if it wasn't for half a dozen Washington St. drops, this might be a Washington State lead instead of a third quarter tie.

I'm watching. He's outplaying Darnold, but like I mentioned in the other thread, holding the ball too long from a shotgun air raid offense doesn't look good for under center pro style possibility, imho.

I think Falk is a guy whom might fall in a bit do to the Mike Leach offense and holding onto the ball, but I like the way he throws and the kid is crazy tough. He might be a bit of a project at this point, but there's a bunch to like about him.

This game is more just making me think Darnold still has a lot to work on, which we already knew

The more I see out of Darnold, the more I think he should stay at USC for another year and play vs. going to the NFL and sitting for a year there. I don't think he could start Opening Day 2018 for any team.

Funny how 'we need to tank for Darnold' can change to 'ummmm....nevermind' in three short weeks.

After the announcers buildup of clutch Darnold, the ending sequence was pretty anticlimactic and almost comical.

Still don't see a guy you spend a boatload of picks to get.

I'm not sold on any of these QBs. A bunch of football to be played between now and the draft, but I'm underwhelmed so far from what I've seen from the "top guys." Rosen has had his moments, but has made some nonsensical throws.

Falk is a guy currently ranked as a 2nd rounder. As the year has gone on and more flaws have appeared for the top QBs, the more I'm thinking we should grab a stud WR or address O-line in the 1st and grab a QB early 2nd. Then go into next year and let Peterman and the rookie battle it out in training camp.

Anything that will push Darnold down a few picks closer to us is fine by me.

Why? You are that convinced at this point that Darnold is 'that guy'?

I seriously doubt he comes out this year anyway unless his performances make a dramatic turnaround. If he goes into the '18 draft playing like this, we know that he knows it's as good as it gets and if he doesn't wanted to harm his ability to cash in on high round money he better declare now. That's not good, IMO.

I posted in the college thread that Falk is legit. His receivers dropped a lot of balls he delivered perfectly while taking many big hits. Poised and accurate. He's very impressive. Played fearless. Love his game.

                              Re: Luke Falk tonight

The issue with Falk is that he doesn't throw into tight windows or throw WR's open. His offense is predicated on hitting WR's in space so he doesn't take chances with the ball. That's why his sack numbers are higher and it's something they mentioned on the broadcast last night.

Falk is basically what we have now in Taylor with better accuracy.
