Prior to the start of the 2017 NFL season, Charles Clay was scrutinized for having one of the worst contracts among tight ends in the NFL. The Buffalo Bills signed Clay to a five-year, $38 million deal with over $24 million in guaranteed money prior to the 2015 season and in the two years since, the former Miami Dolphins standout hadn’t done much to live up to his hefty price tag.Clay recorded a combined 108 catches for 1,080 receiving yards and seven touchdowns during his first two seasons with the team and was widely viewed as one of former general manager Doug Whaley’s free agent busts. However, with a new coaching staff in place and an offense that features the tight end position in the passing game, Clay and quarterback Tyrod Taylor have seemingly developed quite the rapport with one another through the team’s first four games.

Tyrod trusted him yesterday. He wasn't "open" in the way Tyrod usually requires to pull the trigger. But he was willing to throw it up vs single coverage and let Clay win the "battle".
That's a nice development.
