View Full Version : Would you deal both 1st next year and a 1st the next year for Andrew Luck

Of course as long as he returns showing he's healthy. That is 3 1st rounders. He'll only be 29 next year.

No!

Luck's massively overrated and it's damaged goods.

3 1sts?...You're crazy.

If healthy, in a second. No way Colts would do that trade

Absolutely not.

No. Too many holes.

All we've said for last 20 years is we need a franchise QB. He fits that.

Go home, you're wasted. HELL NO.

Luck doesn't impress me.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Yes.

I think he would give us the best shot at an eventual Super Bowl of all other options. I think we can find solid players in the 2nd and 3rd rounds to support the team. I think if we can protect him then we have a top 5 QB in the league for 8-10 seasons.

Colts would never do it.

Luck doesn't impress me.

In his last full season (& with a decent OL) he had 5000 yards and 43 TD's.

i think I started a thread like this a few weeks ago. the overall consensus was no. I still think it's an intriguing idea.

No, he reminds me too much of Bert Jones in that while he is damn good when healthy he has a major problem when it comes to staying healthy

I would give them one first, two seconds and swap places in 2018 with them if they drafted lower than us.

Maybe throw in Darius.

Now there's an idea !!

I don't think it's worth discussing because the Colts would never go for it. You could probably offer them five 1sts and they would say no. That franchise is a disaster and Luck is the only thing they have going for them.

If they have the #1 pick, they might just do it because they can replace franchise QBs & save cap room for the next 4-5 seasons.

I would never put us in a situation where we don't have at least one first round pick. I'd be willing to trade one of this year's picks plus additional compensation, but that's it.

Think about this: I'll leave 2018 out of because we have two picks, but let's say you could trade the 2019 and 2020 picks for any current NFL player except a top 15 QB. How many guys would actually be worth it? How would you add talent in the off-season with the best shot at acquiring talent off the table for two years?

The only way trading future first rounders makes sense is if a team has a legit shot at winning the SB and wants to add the the one missing piece before age and FA break the team apart. We aren't nearly there yet.

His cap number might force the Colts to dump him for less.

The last time we did something like that was in 1987, and we were around the same spot we are now, maybe even worse considering we were 4-12 in 1986, with our franchise QB already in place. We traded 1st round picks in 1988 & 1989 a 2nd rounder in 1989 and a RB who was our #1 pick in 1984. Then without a 1st rounder in 1988, we used our 2nd round pick on a Hall of Famer. If Bill Polian would do something like that for a LB, I trust that for a player like Luck it would be worth it.

By the way we're 3-1... not sure we need to deplete any assets at this point.

Without reservation. I would also throw in Zay Jones.
