What's up?? All three home games show attendance at 68,000 (68,561, 68,751, 68,865). That's 94% of the 73,097 capacity at New Era Field. What seats aren't selling? Maybe the Club seats or boxes?

Same reason attendance is down all over the NFL. Take a knee and think about.

The real reason is there is no longer a blackout. Nothing to do with politics.

Nope. We were expected to be bad. People made other plans. But hey. If a bunch of armchair patriots are crotched over that, maybe they will sell for cheap. Know any?

Are those attendance figures, or ticket sales? There is a difference.

So what the reason for the rest of the league?

https://www.pro-football-reference.com/years/2017/attendance.htm

Total attendance Week 1: 1,044,412 - Week 7 896,253 difference of 148,159.

Attendance is down and so is rating.

I didn't ever see a number from the Bills about season ticket sales for 2017 which is strange? The numbers are attendance numbers from ESPN and the Buffalo News. What are the actual season ticket sales???

Season ticket sales aren't total ticket sales either.

Yes, you are right.

I think CIN has the worst attendance for normal stadiums - 160K over 3 home games. No surprise there.

Really Cin is worse than LACH?

I'd have to think the Chargers would be lower, seeing their current stadium holds only 30,000

Well, for one thing, NEF's seating capacity is https://www.google.com/search?source=hp&q=New+Era+Field+seating+capacity&oq=New+Era+Field+seating+capacity&gs_l=psy-ab.3..0.181.5531.0.5803.33.31.1.0.0.0.113.2696.26j5.31.0....0...1.1.64.psy-ab..1.32.2699.0..0i131k1j0i10k1j0i13k1.0.RH6880PrOHU

71,870

Another thing is I don't remember the Bills hitting that number in years. It's always around 68, 69 K

We don't have blackouts anymore so it doesn't really matter.

the stadium has been renovated so many times that it really seems like a different place than it was in say 1998

Attendance numbers have been trending down over the last couple of years if memory serves me correctly.

The Bills would of had a lot fewer sell-outs during the blackout era if local companies or the team didn't buy up hundreds of tickets during the year for certain games.

Correlation is not causality.

The truth is that ratings and attendance were declining in the NFL since long before the kneeling issue. I'm sure it hasn't helped, but it's only one of many factors.

That was my first thought, too.

I've been to Miami to watch the Bills play. The game was sold out, but it seemed like half the seats were empty. Poor attendance to say the least. Then the amount of Bills fans was enormous. People who bought tickets just didn't show up, and this was only the 2nd game of the year.

It's called NFL Redzone. Most fans just put on the local game, no blackouts, and watch Redzone for FF. Done deal.

Same thing happens with the Redskins. They'be sold out every game for as long as anyone can remember, but if the team isn't in first place, people stop showing up, especially if the weather is bad. They hate it when the Steelers come to town because it becomes a Pitt home game.

I don't think there is for the Bills. According to this article only the Steelers and the Giants base their attendance figures on actual turnstile count.
