August 3, 2003 -- ALBANY - The only downer to the Giants' annual intra-squad scrimmage yesterday came when the starting offense had to come off the field, its day's work complete.
"It's always hard in scrimmages and preseason when you see those guys out there operating and then all of a sudden it's, 'You guys got to come to the sidelines now,' " Jim Fassel said.
No doubt, it was hard for Fassel to pull his first-team offense after a brilliant display. The hype this summer is that this might be the best Giants attack ever and the unit, led by a perfect showing from Kerry Collins, got off to a flying start.
