Travares Tillman, who entered training camp competing for the starting job at free safety, will miss an extended period of time after fracturing his right forearm Saturday morning during a combined practice with the Dallas Cowboys at the Alamodome.
Tillman suffered the non-contact injury on a punt-coverage drill.
Preliminary tests revealed the fracture, and Tillman is expected to miss at least the rest of training camp.
"I don't know how much a guy can do with a fracture. We'll have to wait and see," coach Dom Capers said. "Too bad for Travares because he was one of the guys I had circled to get a good look at the scrimmage (Saturday night)."
