BETHLEHEM, Pa. - "Hollywood" was once again the star at Lehigh University.

Receiver Freddie Mitchell, a.k.a. Hollywood, has definitely been the team's most improved player through the first week of training camp.

He made a series of outstanding catches during yesterday's morning session, including a sideline reception that drew loud applause from the crowd.

"Freddie is playing consistent right now," coach Andy Reid said. "When the quarterback trusts you, that's something [important]. You want to build trust with your quarterback on the field."

Mitchell, whose production in every aspect of the game declined significantly from his rookie season to his second season, apparently understood how much he needed to improve in his third year. Reid believes the former first-round draft pick spent a lot of time in the off-season learning the Eagles' offense.

"He's got to be where the quarterback wants him to be and he has to do it consistently against all the different coverages," the coach said. "Once you can do that, the quarterback can take his time and go through his progression. He spent a lot of time in the off-season working out."
