BEREA - The early returns on the Browns' first practice with the Buffalo Bills were not overwhelmingly positive.

``I don't feel like we had a good practice this morning in the secondary,'' cornerback Daylon McCutcheon said.

``We made a few mistakes,'' linebacker Ben Taylor said of his group. ``I'd say we were a `C.' ''

When the day of two-a-days had ended, Coach Butch Davis summed things up this way, ``We weren't nearly as efficient as I would have liked to have been.''

Oh yeah, quarterback Tim Couch also expressed his first tiny bit of frustration at the ongoing quarterback competition by wishing it would end sooner rather than later.

``I just want to get this whole thing over with,'' Couch said. ``I just want to know whether I'm the guy or not and get this thing going. That way we can start focusing on what's real important, and that's the other teams, instead of worrying about our position.

``Let's get it on and move on.''
