Fisher upset over effort of Titans' veterans in scrimmage

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Tennessee head coach Jeff Fisher isn't grading his Titans on just their scrimmage against Miami. He prefers to look at how they played in all four sessions against the Dolphins to conclude the first week of training camp.

So that means he isn't focusing only on the 345 yards passing by three different Dolphins quarterbacks, and scoring just in a rookie session in the scrimmage. He did see enough to let him know the Titans are not ready yet for their exhibition opener Saturday night against Cleveland.

    "We're not," Fisher said Sunday.

He saw evidence that his Titans were tired on their ninth straight day with at least one practice in the first full week of training camp, and his immediate priority is helping them get the strength back in their legs.

"We got frustrated watching tape a few minutes ago, watching the rookie scrimmage with its live explosions and people running hard. When the veterans were in there, it wasn't live. It was full-speed, but it wasn't full speed. It was sloppy. We just didn't do things right," Fisher said.
