    Raiders' Teyo Johnson taking crash course as tight end

    Already, the installation of plays has begun for Friday's exhibition opener against the St. Louis Rams at the Coliseum, and it's likely Teyo Johnson will be studying as hard as anyone.

    The newly anointed Raiders tight end, making the transition from wide receiver and basketball player at Stanford, is on a fast learning curve as he absorbs the nuances of a largely blocking position in the NFL. He needs to know the entire offensive playbook: the cadence of the quarterback, the footwork of the offensive line, the cutoff points in the run game, his own sets, hand placement and footwork in pass protection.
