BOURBONNAIS, Ill.--When asked who has replaced Rosevelt Colvin as the sharp-tongued speaker of the defense, Bryan Robinson offered a curious response.

Warrick Holdman.

''We call Warrick the silent assassin,'' Robinson said.

Silence is hardly a replacement for Colvin, the strong-side linebacker and sack leader who took flight to New England in free agency. But Robinson's point was when Holdman, the weak-side linebacker, picks his spot for verbal sparring, he lands blows to the chin. When healthy, Holdman has been a silent assassin on the field as well, flying under the radar next to Brian Urlacher. He was just three tackles behind Urlacher during his breakout 2001 season with 145 and had nine more solos. On Tuesday, he vowed to best the perennial Pro Bowler this season, knowing full well Urlacher made 214 a year ago. A wager is expected...
