SANTA CLARA -- Dwight Johnson was on the field last season when the 49ers erased a 24-point, third-quarter deficit to defeat the New York Giants in an NFC wild-card game. The only problem was that he was wearing Giants blue.
"They haven't really bothered me about it," the defensive lineman said of his new, red-and gold-clad teammates. "I'm glad I'm on the other side. I'm on the better team now, so I don't have to suffer from it."
The uniform change isn't the only switch Johnson has made this summer.
At 6-foot-4 and with long legs, Johnson played mostly defensive end in his previous two NFL seasons. The 49ers moved him inside to defensive tackle this summer.
