BOURBONNAIS, Ill.--There is no quarterback controversy here. Even if Rex Grossman lights it up, as you suspect he might during the preseason, the depth chart at the position seems locked in.
The coaching staff doesn't want a quarterback controversy, and all the preseason success in the world will not change their minds. It's a lot like the way things were last season.
Chris Chandler came to the Bears from the Atlanta Falcons with what looked like a pretty good shot to compete with Jim Miller for the starting job. Heck, Miller once had fetched Chandler's coffee or carried his pads for a spell in Atlanta....
