HEMPSTEAD, N.Y.--Try not to mention a certain "L'' word around Curtis Conway.
The new New York Jets receiver is sick of hearing it. Ever since he signed with the team in March, Conway has been linked with the departed Laveranues Coles.
And for good reason. Coles led the Jets in receiving last season before bolting for the Washington Redskins. Conway signed one day after the Jets announced they would not match the $13 million signing bonus and $35 million contract Coles got from the Redskins.
Conway insists he has no intention of replacing Coles....
