I've heard a lot about the game, and it sounds great. Better than usual even. I know some of you already have the copy, but when will it be in stores? I heard Thursday? Another thing, are there still going to be those mini camp games? They were addicting, although if it came down to it, I would much prefer this new owner mode I've read so much about. Can't wait. I have both, and fever isn't as realistic as madden. madden is all i will play. fever sucks compared to madden.

They did right by Williams and Spikes, but I think Posey, Wire, Sullivan, Jennings, and especially SCHOBEl got shafted, he should be at least an 83 or 84. Oh well, good thing you can edit them, lol!

Its just that a lot of people don't like to try new things. Ive been playing Madden from 95 till 2000 since the others games sucked (QB Club, Gameday, etc.) Once I tried the 2k series , I realized how much more superior it is to madden. The gameplay is as realistic as it can get. In Madden, when someone is in triple coverage, somehow the reciever still catches the ball most of the time!! Also, the players in the 2k4 series look very similar to how they look in real life. Last year, NFL2k3 got far superior ratings then Madden, fever, gameday, etc. but still Madden outsold everyone. I think you guys should just give this game a chance and rent it. If you dont like it, thats cool.

I think I played 2k3 I know i played 2k2 and i liked it but the one thing I did not like was the fact that you could use the turbo when ever it just did not seem fair that why I bought fever but its not that great either so if 2k4 is better than 2 was in that respect its a definit posibility. but otherwise I will go with madden 04

I prefer the 2k series a bit over Madden as well, but as was talked about before, they're making a huge mistake by releasing it 3-4 weeks after Madden...

The only thing 2k4 has going for it this year over Madden (besides some people preferring the gameplay) is that its on XBOX Live whereas Madden isn't. Is that significant? Probably not at all...

There is a demo of the new 2k4 (ESPN NFL Football) on the disk that comes with the current XBOX Magazine. You only get 3 mins and team choices are limited, but you get an idea of how it will look and play.

Anyways, if you havent played the 2k series, then you are really missing out. I know you guys have been playing Madden for years, but give this one a chance at least. Its the most realistic and SIM football game thats out.

Madden: The Buffalo logo on the helmet is about half the size its supposed to be. The name stitching on the jersey dosent look like that! The blue shoulder dosent look like that!

i got it and i love it.....i like the new "playmaker" it allows you to do an audible and actully know what the play is! and when you do a toss you can tell the defenders who to block!

I know that in the past madden games, when a WR is double or triple covered, the reciever still caught the ball! I remembered a lot of people complaining about how the score usually ends up being in the 60s all the time and how someone would throw for 600 yards. The running game is ok in Madden. 2k is pretty much a defensive oriented game. With good coverage skills, you can shut down a reciever a good percentage of the time. The passing game, completion % will usually average in the 60 percentile range which is pretty realistic. I love the running game, and especially the blocking. Im not sure if they have this in Madden, but in 2k4, you can choose up to 7 different throwback uniforms per team. Or you can have the blue on blue or white on white like the BIlls did last year which is a cool feature.

Madden 04 is supposed to be released tomorrow and ESPN NFL2k4 comes out Sept 2nd. You should rent both Madden 03 and NFL2k3 and you'll get a feel of what to expect for the 2004 games. Yes Madden does come out earlier but just becomes it comes out earlier dosent mean its the better game. I say you play both games and see which one you like better.

BTW, what system do you have?

Hey ryven, since you got Xbox, its a no brainer man. ESPN NFL2k4 is online and Madden istnt. If you have XBOX live, I promise you that this will be the most addicting games youve ever played. Its fun challenging players of different skill levels every game. Man, im still playing NFL2k3 and its a year old! Ive never played any game as much as I do with NFL2k3. Plus, I use the Bills all the time of course :)

i am definately a NFL 2k fan (recently changed its name to ESPN football 2004).. but me and jj talked about it before.. they are releasing it way to late..

i am going to buy madden today.. i will probably get ESPN football when it comes out too, then keep the one i like the most and sell the other one.

i am going to get my copy of madden today though.. although i am not nearly as excited at alot are..

BTW!.. did you see how low they ranked Marcus Price.. that is absurd.. he has played great at Tackle every time we have needed him too.

Don't try that triple coverage thing in 2004 because it's going the other way, it's a whole new ballgame in Madden 2004, defense intellegence is much more realistic.

i bought nfl 2k3 for 7 dollars because i heard all of these great reviews about it. i am a hard-core madden fan and nothing can compare to it. it takes a pretty damn good game for me to be on year 14 in my franchise...bills havent lost a game yet. i couldnt get past the first season in 2k3. madden is just overall a whole lot cleaner and stuff, although the mockdraft is a nice feature and the whole espn layout. id give madden03 a 10 out of 10 and 2k3 about an 8 or so

i got madden 2004 for PS2....it is good..i dont get anything else but madden. and someone said something bout being tripled covered and still catching it....in this you usually dont unless you jump and comp/opponent doesnt. and if you find you racking your score up....try playing all pro or all madden. youll notice a deiffference in competiotion..but once you get SOOO GOOD then you have to quit lol. and not sure if you guys play much video games but another fun and VERY HARD game to beat is Gran Turrismo 3....you shouls get it and if you do have it PM how much % your complete.

nice game though.. my only complaint is that i dont like the way the players move.. the game play is a bit weird and will take some getting used too.. it was most noticable to me when i was trying to blitz spikes off of the corner.. i couldnt do it well.. he kept running way to wide..

Thats true on rookie mode... If you even TRY to throw a ball into triple coverage when its on all madden mode, one guy will tip the ball, one guy will injure your receiver immediately thereafter, and the third guy will intercept the ball.

i got madden on tuesday thats all ive done since i got it at 11 am. the game is great. The AI is awesome they actually play defense. you actually need to know what your doing to play. if you just throw deep all the time you wont go anywhere. Fixed alot of AI and CHeating problems Great Game. Recommend it for ps2 and pc just because you can play online.

I'll never leave Madden, especially with the new owner mode. I just have the NFL2k4 because it's the only one I could find that nobody else here was using.

I got it. Electronics Boutique has plenty :) The PC version is great, IMO. The live action play calling is pretty cool and the AI is deifnitely an improvement over previous incarnations. And, as usual, the graphics are smokin'! Bottom line, don't think about getting the game, just go get it. It's officially football season now that Madden has hit the shelves.

I went out and bought madden yesterday and it definitly beats nfl fever. I had a hard time picking between 2k4 and madden but madden had what I was looking for and it is out now so I dont have to wait. The game is great and any glitch about a reciever catching a pass when covered by three DB is gone but they really ripped off a bunch of the players on the bills but with some editing I righted a wrong.

I finally got around to getting it today. I have only played one (kicked the jets ass) game but I can already see it's greatness.

Someone asked about details. Well here are a few (gamecube): instant replay is during the next play select (not a separate entity). The C stick is used for the "playmaker" controls. So now in order to look at your receivers you have to press Z + L which is kind of awkward but I'm sure I will get used to it. I really like using the C stick to guide Gash as I follow him with Henry using the regular control stick. Spin move is better this year. I pretty much never used it in 2003 because it didn't help me. There is definitely some terrible songs (I can't stand Korn) but overall the music is better. Thank god they got rid of Bon Jovi. There are a few crafty hip hop songs that are about football (no props to any Bills players though.) So stop surfing the zone and go buy it right now.

...and Spikes is a freakin animal in the game!

PC version is good too. i played in alot of pc leagues before madden went online on ps2. its almost as good as ps2 but you will have to pay every month unless you know people to play ip to ip with.

im a madden guy played it since i was 7 . i almost won roland williams madden championship couple months ago. when using playmaker before the snap on offense, can you only change the route of the primary receiver? If so, I think that sucks. In 2003 you could use the "hot route" feature to change the pattern ran by ANY receiver.

Someone please tell me that I can change the route of any receiver at the line of scrimmage. Thanks in advance.
