    Jag's Linebacker breaks silence

After spending all offseason in what he described as angry silence, Jaguars linebacker T.J. Slaughter finally vented his frustration yesterday at being benched by the new coaching staff.

Slaughter, a former third-round pick who started 26 games the past three seasons under former coach Tom Coughlin, lost his starting spot at weakside linebacker in March when the Jaguars signed veteran Keith Mitchell.

Slaughter has played middle linebacker in his NFL career, but any chance of him starting at that spot also was lost when the Jaguars brought in Indianapolis Colts free agent Mike Peterson the same day Mitchell was signed.

The Jags are going to spontaneously combust.
