Flowery Branch -- From star NFL player, to philanthropist and now . . . entrepreneur. Warrick Dunn is thinking about life after football, and one step in that direction takes place Friday when he opens his first business.

Sports Fanatics, a shop that will feature sports-related items, opens at Perimeter Mall, Dunn's first foray into business ownership.

"I'm looking forward to it," he said. "Why not invest in my future?"

Dunn said his store will sell throwback jerseys, NASCAR helmets, Negro League jerseys and a potpourri of items that carry college and pro teams' insignias.

"We'll have everything: dog leashes, trash cans, mats -- you name it," Dunn said. "NASCAR is huge. It's booming, the helmets, the jackets."

Expect Dunn to make his way to his store, which is a franchise started in Florida. "I'll get by as much as possible, to see if things are running like I want them," he said.
