    Panthers receiver breaks bone in hand

    SPARTANBURG - The Carolina Panthers lost another wide receiver to injury when Nathan Black broke a bone in his hand during practice on Monday.

    "They're going to cast him up today," said coach John Fox. "I haven't heard from the doctors yet, but he will probably miss anywhere from four to six weeks."

    Receiver Steve Smith remains sidelined with a pulled hamstring. Fox said Smith's rehabilitation is progressing well, and that he is about a week from returning.

    "He ran around today; it's just a matter of giving it time," Fox said
