Mike Quinn isn't a weatherman; he's a backup quarterback. But he certainly knows which way the wind is blowing, and it's not at his back.
Quinn, who was the Texans' third quarterback last season, understands his days most likely are numbered. That became clear as soon as quarterback Dave Ragone was selected in the third round of the draft, and nothing's changed through the first part of training camp.
It didn't help that Ragone threw a touchdown pass in Saturday's 20-12 exhibition loss to Denver or that Quinn had a pass intercepted near the Denver goal line in the closing minute.
"The odds are against me. Everybody knows that with the quarterback situation the way it is right now," Quinn said. "Regardless of how I played, it would still be difficult for me to make the team. I'm aware of that, but I'm going to stick it out and see what happens
