With the arrival of No. 1 draft choice Andre Johnson, the growth of second-year player Jabar Gaffney and the steady hands of veteran Corey Bradford, the Texans figure to have an upgrade at wide receiver.
But beyond the top three, there's a battle for three or four spots. After the Texans released Anthony Bright on Tuesday, seven players remain in the race for those jobs.
"I think it will be extremely competitive," said Texans coach Dom Capers. "I've mentioned that after our top three of Bradford, Johnson and Gaffney ... it's wide-open. We're going to have to continue to evaluate those guys in the game against Dallas this Friday night."
