Watched him last night at practice and he has excellent speed and burst off the ball! Seems like the coaches were getting frustrated with his inability to shed the initial blocker and get to the quarterback. And Jones is really favoring that knee. He may be ready by mid-season if at all at this rate.

Where do you guys see Irons fitting into the rotation?

well Irons can probably work on sheddidng blockers but if he was to fix that would he be dominate of course im getting head of thing but it's nice to think of the future could he be the pass threat we need he hee can learn to shed the blockers

I hope we keep him. He is probably ahead of Kelsay at this point, and is much better than an injured Jones.

I didn't see any of our ends shed any blockers on Saturday...

You took the words right outta my mouth!

Pat Williams and Schobel were, ...again..., the only DL-men to shed anyone! Posey did on an occasion or two when he was lined up at DE. More of a speed around thing w/ him tho.

But none of the other DEs or DTs shed anything.

We're in trouble again if this keeps up. I was big on Irons, but he didn't show anything on Sat. Same as the others tho.
