Cap Hit / Advantage for Cutting Jett, Gary, Marcus Jones, or Charles Johnson?

If these guys aren't impressing, is there any hit or advantage for cutting any of these guys?

I don't think we benefit much by cutting Johnson.

I do think we'd have somewhat of a savings by cutting Jones.

    Not sure about the others.

    From ESPN last year:

"Jones, 29, signed a three-year contract Monday and ESPN.com learned that the $3.3 million deal does not include a signing bonus. The base salary for this season, $525,000, is prorated so that it costs the Bills just $185,294. The subsequent base salaries are $1.275 million in 2003 and $1.5 million for '04."

When the Buffalo Bills signed veteran free agent Marcus Jones on Monday, they did so anticipating that the former Tampa Bay defensive end would not play at all in 2002, and that became official on Wednesday afternoon.

No SB is nice b/c we don't carry anything into the future.

Cutting Jett and Johnson will save about $150K each on the cap...

Those guys will be final cuts if cut at all. I feel CJ and Jett will go then.

But if people looked at the page then they wouldn't have to ask us questions...

If ALL 4 were cut the savings would be approx.

              Jett 150K
              Gary 150K
              Johnson 150K
              Jones $1.05M

So the savings for all 4 would be $1.5M depending on who makes the team because the guys that would replace them on the roster would make anywhere between 225K and 300K.

If they do cut them all they better re-sign Winfield.
