    Painful loss for Eagles

The Philadelphia Eagles would've been happy just losing the game.

Tom Brady threw three touchdown passes, leading the New England Patriots to a 24-12 victory over the Eagles on Friday night in the first football game at the new $520 million Lincoln Financial Field.

The game was costly for Philadelphia, which lost starting wide receiver James Thrash to head and neck injuries, starting linebacker Carlos Emmons to a high ankle sprain, rookie defensive end Jamaal Green to a broken right leg and backup defensive tackle Paul Grasmanis to a concussion.

Philadelphia Eagles rookie defensive end Jamaal Green left Friday night's game against the New England Patriots after breaking his right leg.

Green, a fourth-round pick from Miami, was hurt early in the third quarter while trying to tackle Patriots running back Antowain Smith following an 8-yard gain.

Earlier in the game, Eagles wide receiver James Thrash left on a stretcher with head and neck injuries. X-rays on Thrash were negative.
