Name the starting quaterback you would rather have than Drew Bledsoe, and what you would be willing to give up in a trade for him.

There's no way on earth Philly would take Henry and a first round pick for McNabb. MO.

I'll bet half these guys have worse statistical seasons than Bledsoe

LMAO...that is funny.

Dumbo sucks.
Manning-Right on the same level.
Brady-No arm.
Brunnell-Too banged up and inconsistent.
McNair-One of the few I'd prefer.
Holcomb-Flash in the pan.
Maddux-1 year wonder.
Pennington-No arm.
Carr-Possibly only due to potential.
Green-Way too inconsistent.
Gannon-Too old.
Brees-Very limited. No arm.
McNabb-Right on same level.
Collins-Overrated.
Favre-Obvious answer.
Culpepper-1 good year.
Chandler-China doll.
Hasselbeck-Not proven yet.
Warner-If healthy, yes.
Bulger-What has he proven?
Blake-Career loser.
Garcia-Decent player, not on Bledsoe's level.
Vick-Definately.
D. Johnson-Rob Johnson part deux.
B. Johnson-Average player. Caretaker.
Brooks-CHOKE.

Get real. Most of these guys aren't half the player Drew is.

The only QB's I would take over Drew are...

McNair
Favre
Warner
Vick
and possibly Carr, in a few years.

LOL

Yes! Even I'd take a chance on Doug Johnson and likely even several other backups.

Here's why I said LOL;

I'd wager anything that at the end of this season that some of the same exact posters here are gonna be screaming how we need to get rid of Drew.

Time will tell!

:)

If I recall correctly, Drew turned your team around and took you to a Pro-Bowl last year. Honestly, why would you cheer against someone like that???

WG

Now how are we gonna base a wager on that?

It's more of a subjective measure. We'll see tho.

I'll wager you this, that amongst us here, there's another "QB controversy" of sorts as a result of Drew's play?

You can't tell me that the only reason it exists however is b/c of me.

So what say ye, the wager is, for ZBs, that we have ourselves another QB controversy w/ many more people than myself questioning or otherwise demanding that we start looking for another QB.

It's tough to make wagers on non-hard facts.

Id take Maddux, Bulger here, and Im confident we could do these deals for them:

Bledsoe, DP for Maddux

Henry for Bulger

Why would the Rams want Henry?

WG
08-23-2003, 02:07 PM
B/c Faulk is over 30 and he keeps getting hurt and is on the downside of his career. Getting Henry would be brilliant for the Rams. They'd likely get more for Faulk than they'd have to give up for Henry. Perceptions rule the roost. There's always plenty of Adams-like fans out there who would go gaga over getting Faulk thinking they were getting the '00 RB who was an animal.

I'll take you on that cas!!!

Half of those QBs, discounting those who don't start on opening day or get injured, will post better stats I say.

Let's use TD/INT ratio, total TDs, fewest INTs, completion %, yards-thrown-per-TD, offensive scoring for their team, and QB rating, all final stats as the basis for statistical comparison.

Fair?

Any QB that doesn't play at least 10 games is disqualified.

Fewer games hurts you in INTs, but helps you in TDs.

That's 7 cats per QB, so the way we compare "better" is whichever QB has better stats in at least 4 of those cats.

Sound good?

What's the wager, how many ZBs? Other?

Here are the QBs that you included minus the backups:

Fiedler
Manning
Brady
Brunnell
McNair
Holcomb
Maddux
Pennington
Carr
Green
Gannon
Brees
McNabb
Collins
Favre
Culpepper
Hasselbeck
Warner/Bulger if Warner gets hurt
Blake
Garcia
Vick or D. Johnson if Vick doesn't recover soon
B. Johnson
Brooks

Heck, I'm even throwing you a freebie in Carr who won't have a better season than Drew. I'd simply rather have him than Drew.

Let me know, we'll set this up via e-mail.

Ah, yes... but Faulk is a fan favorite (something small to take into consideration), fits into the offense/knows it well, and will turn around this year.

Henry would have to sit on the bench until Faulk retires, because Martz is a dumbass (remember Warner/Bulger... Bulger never really got a fair shot... he's just as sold on Faulk as he was on Warner).

Besides, player for player trades of that magnitude don't happen much.

WG
08-23-2003, 02:53 PM
Well, what would be shrewd and what Martz would or would not allow to happen are two different things.

TD the same.

Shrewd to me is not to 'trade up' for Denney.

Shrewd to me is not to ignore William Joseph when we sorely need a DT in favor of an injured player w/ huge risks and one which instantly brings a management issue to the club.

Shrewd is not to draft a DE like Kelsay who has the knock of not being able to beat the best collegiate competition.

Shrewd is getting Spikes where we have a sore need for a WLB.

WG

These discussions aren't predicated on what's possible, but on what's perceivable.

That's why I don't speculate as to what to trade for most of those QBs. First of all, most of their teams wouldn't part w/ them realizing that a decent QB is difficult to come by.
