View Full Version : Lions at Bills...who's got the better scrubs?

This will obviously be a pretty meaningless game. Harrington came to life for us Saturday night against a weak Cleveland defense, and regained some confidence.....Charles Rogers looked everybit like a #1 draft choice.

Won't see more than a series or two, tops, from either of them.....but Mike McMahon and Ty Detmer follow at QB.....and possibly the undrafted rookie that is on the roster for the time being, Curt Anes.

Being that this won't be a show of 1st teamers by any stretch, who's scrubs come out on top?

Personally, I don't care, just a dribble thread, and some thoughts on the matchups....as well as who is impressing/depressing on the lower end of the depth charts for each team.

Let's hope both teams can come out of this one injury free, and with some good indications of who to keep and cut!

GO LIONS!

At this point, Detroit has seen flashes of brilliance from WR David Kircus, RB Avon Cobourne, and CB Blue Adams......a few players to watch.....

Bryson looked good last week in his 1st action, and should be a lock at backup RB. Watson has looked like nothing more than the Bills spent garbage.....never understood that signing, but he'll make the team after Chris Cash's season ending knee injury the other night.

2001 Doak Walker winner, Luke Staley will likely be cut, as will WR Travis Anglin, among a few others.....the first few cuts are expected this afternoon.....our insider at www.thelionsfanatics.com has a lead on who will be cut, but we can't post the information until 1:00 this afternoon.

Who are the players to watch in Buffalo? I'm not familiar with many of the scrubs/players on the bubble.....who should I keep an eye on?

 Didn't I tell you he sucks when they signed him? Too bad he's going to make the team. Oh well, I'm sure you'll have as much fun bad-mouthing him as we did. ;)

I had wanted Chris Watson cut ever since we got him from the Broncos years ago as a "Return Specialist." Mr Fumbles was terrible then and his terrisble a$$ played way to much the past two years. THANK GOD HE IS GONE!

If you guys have the lead when Jason Johnson comes in you win. If you stop Drew and AVP you have a chance. Tom Donahoe vs Matt Millen Hmmmmmmmmm..............................We win!!!!!!!!!

I might agree that Donahue is a better GM than Millen.....but.....to defend Millen (and I have bashed him repeatedly in the past).....

Every single player he has let go since coming here, is either constantly busted up injured (still), or not performing on their new team (Johnnie Morton and Charlie Batch).....so the people he has dumped are starting to look like good moves, despite how mad it made the fans.

On the other hand, Schroeder was a waste, Hakim is overpaid.....but we have had 3 solid drafts since he came in as well.....

I think with Mariucci here, Millen's job is safe, at least for now.

players that you should keep an eye on are:

RB Joe Burns (very tough to bring down, runs hard between the tackles)
CB Terrance McGee (coming along nicely for a rookie, looked great returning punts so far but needs to be consistent as a cover corner)
LB Dominique Stevenson (played with the first team D against Tennessee when Spikes went down, had 6 tackles and a FF the game before)
WR Clarence Coleman (This guy has turned heads this offseason..worked out with Eric Moulds and has really flourished as a WR and a return man... excellent player, keep a close eye on him)

Fisch I had a few questions for you. There are a couple of Lions I am interested in.

Whats the word on James Stewart this year? I have him as a backup RB in one of my Fantasy Football leagues. Worth keeping? Any idea how he has been looking?

What about Boss Bailey? I thought he mighta been a good pick for Buffalo...

Thanks.

James Stewart should be worth keeping as a backup.....take a look at GB's run defense in week 1.....he may be worth starting in week 2, and frankly, none of our division foes are too proficient against the run. He'll have some big games in the division games this year, barring injury. ;)

Bailey has at times looked like a 1st round draft choice, and at others looked like a lost rookie. He has looked FAST.....and has come close to a few interceptions already. I've only seen 1 play that he 'over ran' so far, and other than that tackling has not been an issue to this point either. Looking like he'll be starting at the SSLB position for Detroit.
