he was released today from Green Bay, is he worth a look, he has to have some talent to of gone 3rd overall in the 99 draft. he cant be worse than TB. what do you think?

i would man.....He just needs some confidence he has some skill ....its all in his head. i havent seen him much but ive seen TB and i dont like TB he sucks.

Id crap bricks if the Bills signed him.. He just plains sucks.. Besides Ryan Leaf was a 1st round pick. He had no skill what so ever.. Akili is another Leaf.

Leif had tons of skill, he was just a 6 year old in a mans body.

I think Akili could do well in a system where he isnt required to lead a team, has a goto guy and he has a reliable ground game. In neither Cincy or GB did he have all 3.

why would anybody be upset if we signed akili smith as our #3? he cannot be any worse than travis or johnson, both of whom were undrafted and SUCK!!

Yeah, and Leaf had to have had some talent too since he was first overall.

I'd rather have Akili Smith then Jason Johnson.

Johnson couldn't even get reps in camp with Travis Brown as our 3rd string. I'd take a flyer on Smith. What other 3rd string junkie are you gonna be able to bring in with more past/future potential then Smith?

Actually he was second overall but I agree with you. I'm not that fond of this idea.

No. Something's got to be wrong with him.
Green Bay has got to figure that Favre is going down for a few games given his age and playing style. They have a no name backup and still cut a very highly thought of, at one time, QB-even if it was the Bengals?
Something's not right with this guy.

Akili Smith had one of the all time low Wonderlich scores. :anvil:

Akili cant read a defense what so ever.. Not even Bledsoe teaching him, Moulds,Shaw,Reed,Henry and a decent Oline could help him..

Some guys play great in College and just cant cut it in the NFL.. Akili is one of them..
