Vick and Pennington were seemingly the most popular choices for NFL photo shoots the past couple of months. Both were shot for possible Sports Illustrated covers during the past two weeks and both are now are gone for the next month or two (and probably more in Pennington's case).

Whatever happens with the Bills...please, please, please do NOT put any of them on the cover of Sports Illustrated! :pray:

AND PENNINGTON! Apparently, according to the D&C. Sports Illustrated had a cover ready to go to print for the NFL Preview. It had Michael Vick on the cover. That was the weekend of the game. we all know what happened. Then they decided on putting Chad Pennington on the cover, they had it all set and just had to print it...but he broke his wrist. :eek: Now, they settled it and put Kurt Warner on the cover and he will be on the new NFL Season Preview issue. :D

Is this similar to the Chucky Soup jinx that took out Jerome Bettis, Terrell Davis, Kurt Warner, Donovan McNabb AND Michael Strahan in the past years?

It's the swelling head jinx, actually.

Get some extra popular publicity - head swells - hard to run around with that big 'ole monster head - fall down - get hurt.

Simple as that.

last time i mentioned the 'cover curse' people laughed at me. but it hasn't failed yet! :ontome:

i'd like to see brady on the cover!

AGREED! Apparently when Parcells was head coach for the Giants, he told them hell no when SI wanted to use them on the cover.
