View Full Version : Jason Johnson beats out Travis Brown already!

Jason Johnson showed more field presence and game management savvy in one half yesterday than Travis Brown did, or frankly than Rob Johnson ever did while here. He may not be the most talented QB ever, but a good manager of a game is what you need in a backup QB.

That's what makes AVP so successful in his NFL career as a backup- let's face it, he's done a serviceable if not better job in every opportunity he's had to play in his career. Johnson deserves to be kept around, hopefully on the practice squad, to be developed as a backup.

We can sign Jim Kubiak as the #3, and give Travis Brown an injury settlement that will let him go elsewhere, thank him for the time here, and give him some spare change.

I godda agree with you on JJ, he actually got a chance to show why the Bills brought him in! can't beat an 11 minute drive that ends in a game winning touchdown.

Everytime I hear radio personalities talking about cutting Travis Brown they mention an injury settlement that the Bills would have to extend to him. I'm guessing that it's a league No-No to dump a guy on his ass (without compensation ) after he gets hurt while playing for your team.

This brings me to my question. Why the hell wasn't Jason Johnson EVER given a shot in the first or second preseason game? Travis Brown showed NOTHING in the first game. Why didn't they let Jason Johnson show his stuff in the 2nd game? Unless, they were hoping that Jason Johnson would fall under the radar and they would bring him back to the Practice Squad easily?

We needed to see if Brown could show something (witch he didnt)
I have heard about JJ's arm strength being Wuerffel like so that limits him. Moulds is our emergency QB. I say cut them both and go with Drew and AVP til a free agent comes available.

If you guys use it 2-3 times with the length of your posts, how many times do you suppose Wys uses it per post?

He probably types all his posts up in Microsoft Word, then runs a spell check and then cuts and pastes.

Johnson deserves the #3 spot. He's shown more in 1/2 than Brown has in 2 years. Although I like Brown because he is a real Christian but he's paid to play football.

Does a player's religion matter to whether or not he's good for our team?
