Jason Johnson showed more field presence and game management savvy in one half yesterday than Travis Brown did, or frankly than Rob Johnson ever did while here. He may not be the most talented QB ever, but a good manager of a game is what you need in a backup QB.
That's what makes AVP so successful in his NFL career as a backup- let's face it, he's done a serviceable if not better job in every opportunity he's had to play in his career. Johnson deserves to be kept around, hopefully on the practice squad, to be developed as a backup.
We can sign Jim Kubiak as the #3, and give Travis Brown an injury settlement that will let him go elsewhere, thank him for the time here, and give him some spare change.
