SAN DIEGO (AP) -- Fullback Lorenzo Neal and defensive tackle Dequincy Scott of the San Diego Chargers were hospitalized due to a bacterial infection.
The two were admitted Thursday night but the team didn't announce it until Friday night during the first quarter of an exhibition game against the San Francisco 49ers.
Hospitalizing the two players was precautionary because of the possible contagious nature of the infection, the team said in a statement.
A team spokesman said he didn't know what hospital the two were in but they are expected to be discharged Saturday or Sunday.
