    Browns' Verba out for season

The Browns head into their season opener against Indianapolis next Sunday with a new left tackle protecting quarterback Kelly Holcomb's blind side.

It probably will be Barry Stokes. He is the only other lineman on the roster who has played left tackle in an NFL game.

Ross Verba was declared lost for the season after an MRI exam revealed he had suffered a ruptured right biceps tendon in Thursday night's final preseason game against Atlanta.

    Long recovery...

Ross Verba’s arm has been fixed by doctors. The rest of him still hurts.

Verba is out for the season after rupturing his right biceps in the Cleveland Browns’ final exhibition game against Atlanta. The offensive tackle is having a tough time dealing with his injury and says he hasn’t been able to block out thoughts of retirement.
