At a few minutes past 1 p.m. Sunday, Barret Robbins sat before his locker at the Raiders' practice facility and exuded the expressions and body language of a man enormously relieved and extremely grateful to be where he was.
A few caveats, though: Hundreds of players in dozens of locker rooms gave off the same vibes at that moment, the deadline for final cuts for the upcoming NFL regular season. Plus, facial expressions and body language don't reveal a tremendous amount about Robbins, or else a lot more people over the years might have been alerted to the demons raging within him, the ones that did him in the night before January's Super Bowl and threatened his future in the only NFL home he has known.
