    Practice Squad Named

Bills name five to the practice squad

    Bills Report Staff - BillsReport.com

    September 1, 2003 at 4:16pm ET
The Bills added named five player to their practice squad this afternoon. All five were in training camp with the Bills. Some even served on the practice squad last year and some are new comers.

Those five players named to the practice squad were:

    DB Jerton Evans
    QB Jason Johnson
    OL Richard Seals
    RB Ken Simonton
    WR Rodney Wright

Wright and Seals were on the practice squad at various times last season. Johnson, Evans and Simonton are newcomers to the team and new to the list as well. This might not be the end to the Bills transactions before the season opener, as the Bills made several moves following naming their practice squad in 2002.
Still searching for that offensive rhythm.

Does anyone know why they released Johnson then re-signed him to the practice squad? Is it a money situation?

Because they had to get the regular roster down to 53 and apparently didn't want him on it right now.
