NBF said that if more people wanted to join he would expand it. You'll probably have to wait until he's online again later today.

25. I think that's about as many as were interested last season....and more than half quit two games into the season. Maybe since there are prizes this season we'll get better participation.

Because he's not online. He wanted to see if anyone was interested first.

Well golly. I didn't know there would still be interest.

The pool has now been expanded to 50. I doubt that we will get another 25, but it will start regardless of how full it is.

I wont be in it. Last year, I was in one of the top 3 places when I had some problems accessing the site for some reason. Screwed up my picks. Dropped me down to the bottom, then after I worked my way back to fifth, I had more trouble accessing the site for a whole week. I tried to get on, right up to game day. I would like to be in it but I hate putting the effort in only to get screwed.

I remember that screw up.

I am almost 100% sure that it won't happen this year.

I'm in. The hardest part is keeping track of the numbers from 1-16, only took me 8 tries :hamrhed:

Anyone know about last nights game. With the point spread it was a tie. Do we get points or not get points for ties.

I thought the rules stated if it is a push then nobody wins and you get zero points.

northernbillfan
09-05-2003, 12:05 PM
Yup it was a push, but I don;t understand how it could be a push.

The Skins were favored by 3, and they won by three, so you would think they covered.

Turf

I couldn't find the rules. I would imagine a tie is a tie though.

northernbillfan

But the Skins still won by three and the line was three.

And yes they are giving everbody who had the Skins a zero for it.

yle

That's why they call it "beating the spread". That way Vegas wins both ways when there's a tie. It's part of the gamble.

northernbillfan
09-05-2003, 12:56 PM
Damn pushers!

Turf

The only reason I ask is that if both teams get zero, then we all get zero. If not, we all weighted the game differently so it does matter even if both sides win.

Remember to pick again this week.

I just realized that I misinterpreted the Confidence points last week. I took it to be 1 is most confident and 16 is least confident. It is exactly the opposite. You get the confidence point value you select for correct answers. Fron the rules:
"So, if you pick Pittsburgh to beat Dallas and assign the game a confidence point value of 15, you would get 15 points for a correct pick, but no points if Dallas wins. You do not lose points for an incorrect selection."

Maybe I was the only confused one, but in case there are others I thought I'd mention it.,
