I'd guess the recovery has not gone ideally via the hosting service, but is likely not finished yet, with availability being the first priority. Server's up !!!.....um......that Lecter guy is on the phone again threatening to travel.....

R. Franklin M. Harrington., old wealth, has a couple conglomerates, grew a startlingly successful investment firm. Been here a while. Dabbles. Knows where to get a good burger in any city if you ask him. If you don't, he'll keep it to himself and consider you willfully uneducated on where to find a good burger in any city.

I posted this on some “test” threads that were started....but those have since been deleted.

After the Zone being down for several days, I reluctantly went over the the Range, where a lot of posters here came from after the owner of that site went on a political rampage banning posters on a whim, targeting “lefties” many years ago. It was ugly.

I hardly ever went back, maybe checking them out year or so to see if thee was anything of interest. There never was. And still not.

But, hanging around the site for a few hours and even posting a little bit, it made me appreciate this site much more. The Range is a total ****show. It’s more a “political” site with a nod to the Buffalo Bills. And when I say “political” it’s more like a constant, endless, unrestrained, flame throwing mess.

SpikedLemonade is active on the Range and suppled some information he was exchanging with Dr. Lecter. Seems like after the service provider changed hardware, it failed. And now that they are up, the transfer of all the information is slow going.

I wish Lecter good luck and appreciate the effort. Hopefully, before the opening of the season, the Zone will be back up.

Despite the fact that we always have disagreements, compared to the vitriol and trolling at the Range, the Zone is like going to church. An (mostly) intelligent church where there is an actual exchange of views and opinion instead of posts that are like feces throwing caged monkeys.

Short version

1. Server fails, can't load OS
2. I get asked if I make back ups (No, that is what a hosting service is supposed to do - they were able to access the data eventually)
3. They start to load up the new hardware and that fails.
4. Now they have it loaded, but something funky is happening with accessing the data and posts. They are still working on this. I have attempted to repair the database but this is still what we have

They have been working a lot on it - but I assume it being a holiday weekend did not help
