All: The new Billszone site with the updated software is scheduled to be turned on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. The company that built it, Dynascale, estimates a FOUR HOUR shut down, from 8pm Pacific, (5pm Eastern) while they get it up and running. Nobody will be able to post in any forum until they are done. Afterwards, you may need to do a web search for the site, as old links will not work, because the site is getting a new IP address. Please be patient. If there are bugs, we will tackle them one at a time. Remember the goal is to be up and running with no glitches by camp. Doing this now assures us of that, because it gives us all summer to get our ducks in a row. Thank you!
NFLPA was advising him. As they want to see more fully guaranteed contracts, they advised him he was fine in wanting one.
Can appreciate the kid has confidence and is willing to bet on himself, but don't see it ending well. With his style of play, injury is a crapshoot, and that will be that.
I guess what stands out to me is that I can't see Allen behaving like Jackson is, none of it. I'm glad we have Allen and not Jackson. I think the difference between them will become more pronounced.
Allen has an agent because he knows the agent can negotiate while he concentrates on football.
I've seen articles written in the past that said that if Jackson had an agent before his rookie year the agent would have advised him how to go through the whole draft process and he would have been selected a lot higher in the 1st round than he was. So not having an agent has probably already cost him $ on his rookie contract.
If the team exclusive-franchise tags him the next two seasons he'll be guaranteed $45.4mil in '23 and $54.54mil in '24. After that as long as he doesn't get injured and plays adequately he'll probably get to write his own check.

2021 - No playoffs, 8-9 record
2020 - 3 points in playoff loss to Bills - No TD's
2019 - 4 FG's (12 points) and no TD's in playoff loss, after 14 wins in the regular season.
Might cause Ravens some pause before just pushing the Franchise tag button. Will be watching.
Anonymity is an abused privilege, abused most by people who mistake vitriol for wisdom and cynicism for wit

He can live on that.

I think the Ravens are definitely gun shy.
After Flacco won the SB, they gave him a big contract. But, so much of their success was predicated on D and a running game. They didn't have the cap space to keep their big guys after paying Flacco. I don't think they want to end up in that situation again
