Hyde getting second opinion on neck

Sounds like this injury is pretty serious.

#Bills safety Micah Hyde is seeking further consultation, a second opinion on a neck injury that occurred during the fourth quarter of Buffalo’s win against the Titans.

Hyde missed both Wednesday and Thursdays practice so his availability for Sunday vs the #Dolphins is in jeopardy, and maybe longer. This is his 3rd neck injury since 2019. Anytime you hear of a player getting a second opinion, it’s potentially long term and/ or serious. Let’s hope for the best.

Might be that serious, might be he wants clarification from a specialist he trusts. Alarming.

I just hope Hyde selects the right options to be a healthy Hyde, regardless of playing football.

      He'll play when he's right.

Did he get hurt on a hit he made?

He had something similar during late pre-season when he was with Green Bay and was fine for the season opener. Hopefully this is just something like "this guy knows my neck, I'm going to see what he thinks".

          It’s Eichel’s neck specialist.

He's doing the right thing it'll play out the way it is supposed to.

                This is NOT good news.

It strongly suggests that the first medical opinion was not good in the least, and may be the first sign toward the end of his career.

Yes, yes this is “speculation”....but common sense considering his age and history of neck injury. And the seriousness of neck injuries in relation to spinal cord.

                  Agreed.

I won't speculate, but I have a suspicion that he probably needs something similar to a Ford compact car

Generally not a good thing when someone goes for a second opinion

Here's hoping it's not too serious

My first car was a Ford Tempo. It never had any major mechanical problems, but it wouldn't get out of it's own way and all the peripheral stuff broke- that damn retractable seat belt thing, the power windows, the A/C, etc.

As far as the topic at hand, this sounds like Jack Eichel all over again. I agree with notty- can't jump to conclusions, but a guy at his age having recurring neck issues that require a specialist? It's not a good sign. It's going to be hard to pay Poyer after this season and there's a good chance he's gone. It would really suck to lose Hyde for medical reasons.

Hopefully not an IR news tomorrow where they use the roster spot to shore up the secondary - one safety, one CB declared out
