‘Concussion’ doctor Bennet Omalu says Tua Tagovailoa should give up football forever

Bennet Omalu, the famed neuropathologist who has been credited with finding chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) in former football players, has said Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa should “stop playing” football after suffering a concussion last Thursday.
“Tua, my brother. I love you,” Omalu said, speaking to TMZ (https://www.tmz.com/2022/10/04/dr-bennet-omalu-urging-tua-tagovailoa-quit-football-forever/), not to Tagovailoa. “I love you as much as I love my son. Stop playing. Stop. Hang your helmet and gallantly walk away.”
Tagovailoa was taken off the field on a stretcher (https://nypost.com/2022/09/29/dolphins-tua-tagovailoa-stretchered-off-field-after-blow-to-head/) during Miami’s loss to the Bengals last Thursday after the back of his head crashed into the ground on a sack by Cincinnati nose tackle Josh Tupou.

Tua got ****ed and never should have been out there after the hit by Milano. We all saw what happened against the Bengals. He was wronged.

But this dr is the CTE guy and he has a lot of money at stake against the League. And I’ve seen no evidence thst he personally evaluated Tua.

So, personal opinion: Tua needs an objective opinion and prob shouldn’t play but the CTE guy is not objective.

Any doctor should tell you that no matter what. Footballs not safe, if i went to the doctor and told them i had diarrhea, he should tell me to stop playing football

It's just a back issue. A couple trips to the Chiropractor and...

That doesn't bode well.

He lost me when he said he loves him as much as he loves his own son. I hate drama queens.

Like I've said several times. I don't care if he sits 2 or 10 games, the next time his head gets hit or he hits the ground he will experience the same thing. He's done.

If he decides to roll the dice and keep playing - I hope his agent is looking at other teams.

I'm shocked the concussion spotters didn't see his head bang against the ground. Then again they didn't notice Devante Parker struggling to stand the other week.

He reported himself after this one, so he's got to be getting worried.

It's getting scary. I saw the replay of him smacking his head. It's kind of hard to believe no one there saw it. It's like he goes limp when he's going down.

The first one was a 'back problem'.
The second one was unavoidable when he posted.
This one is 'didn't have symptoms until Monday'.

A **** show should be expected from a **** franchise, I guess.

He's done for the year. Dolphins will be looking for a QB this offseason.

He needs Brian Cox’ square neck pad.

He needs an independent doctor to show him the light about his actual health issues.

Not a self serving organization telling him his scrambled eggs brain is actually a bad back.

He needs to be done with NFL football this season.

Time to sort it all out .... with his own specialists.
