Surprised to see Elam and DaQuan Jones on the injury report. We need them both 100%. Especially DaQuan. I really believe the improvement of Bills run D is because of him (he said something to the effect of "needing to know what they are trying to do to you first" - something I haven't heard from any Bills D lineman said that before). I just don't want KC having any idea next Sunday that they can run on us, like they did to the Bucs.

Limited Wednesday practice is generally hopeful news really. DNP is more concerning unless it's rest. Hopefully most of them play

McKinnon looked pretty good running the ball against Vegas, what little I saw of i.

On one run in particular it looked as though they forgot how to tackle.

Run block tackle is the name of the game.

They have some secondary issues too. Clark illness is a big one, but assume he'd be ok by Sunday

Secondary concerns not a good place to be against us that's for damn sure.

By the time the game rolls around it will have been 2-1/2 weeks since surgery. The wound will be closed and stitches out. The hand will be in a cast. Just need to overcome the pain.

That and/or he wants to keep his status on the depth chart. If he's been told he won't re-injure it, it's just pain he has to overcome.

Dr Goobylal, is there any chance he can re-injure it?

Wonder if Elam struggles, Benford could be inserted other than playing special teams.

A natural prediction for the Chiefs on D is that they may just go dime or even 7 DB most of the time even if the Bills go with their base offense personnel. Basically they say we are going to protect against your passing attack; if you want to hand the ball off against our dime or 7 DB look, so be it.

It actually makes sense because the Bills run success thus far is more from pin and pull to the edge. DBs can run so they may defend those running attacks better. If Safford can suddenly find his run blocking prowess allowing the Bills to run through the middle, it can certainly put KC in very vulnerable position.

Or have Josh run it a lot.

Some football people speculated on that. KC's DC is known for blitz and different looks. Last playoff game against the Bills, he blitzed only 4 times. He did have a spy on Josh because in last year's regular season game, Allen ran multiple times on the first drive which resulted in a TD. So you can see there is a lot of justments made by people playing a team multiple times.

This time, the main consensus is that they will go with at least 5 DBs whole game. But they may bring different kind of blitz with a DB or two more than 4 times. The key is to like the Miami game: have an effective blitz (Miami got a sack fumble early in the game) to get into Josh and O-Line's head. Then fake blitz dropping different people to still play coverage most of the time. Untill someone finds a new way, that is the proven way to slow down Allen this year.

If Allen can make them pay for blitz, people will stop. And that includes running by himself. Faking blitz and then going to back to coverage also has a disadvantage of getting your defenders in position to defend the receivers. I think Diggs alluded to it in Von's podcast Tuesday. He said something like that KC DC likes to throw different looks; we need to ID the play quick, get open quick for my QB. Translation: if the blitz faking guy can't get back to the proper position and depth while Josh and his receiver can read the same thing and make a quick connection, there are big plays to be made.

Of course if we can run on those 6 DB looks, all problems are solved, but I doubt we have the personnel to do that.

They've got Frank Clark on one side. He had some good years for Seattle. While he's been productive for KC, he's not been a world beater. On the other side, they'll be playing Mike Danna. He's in his third year with seven total starts. The real threat on the line is Chris Jones, of course. Saffold was signed specifically to face players like Jones. He's struggled in run blocking, but he's solid in pass blocking. I expect the Bills will continue to struggle to run inside, but it looks to me as if Buffalo should not have too much difficulty protecting Josh Allen, and he should be able to shred the Chiefs in the passing game. On the others side, I don't see that KC's WRs can hurt Buffalo that much. They have a good running game, and they have Travis Kelce. Buffalo has been effective in run defense. They've also been successful this season at controlling some pretty good tight ends this season. Kelce is in a different league, but if Buffalo can control the KC running game, they may be able to make KC pretty one dimensional. I don't think KC can do the same to Buffalo.

I hope we use Cook out of the backfield a few times.

Hodgins, Shakir, Diggs and Davis not to mention Knox or Morris all potentially could have big games.

Davis has to get special attention and they have at best their 2nd team players starting in the defensive backfield.

Dorsey should be playing a wide open attack ..... 60 minutes of hell.
