Seen that, laughed.

Josh shoulder shrug, like WTF. :lmao:

Not worried about the Super Bowl until they actually get to the Super Bowl.

Right now it's Miami next.

Nowadays, the "reporters" have their narratives pre-determined and they go to these news conferences to seek materials to support their narratives. You see that in CNN, FOX, NBC, CBS, everywhere.

Sullivan is just a small time reporter that fits into that mold. He had the column written yesterday evening (https://www.wivb.com/jerry-sullivan/buffalo-bills-win-but-offense-falling-short-of-a-super-bowl-standard-josh-allen/?utm_source=t.co&utm_campaign=socialflow&utm_medium=referral) and his statement (not even a question) was attempt to get some sort of confirmation from Josh to be quoted into his column.

We've been over this before. It's a long season. Nobody knows how well anyone will be playing in a month, what the injury situations for each team will be etc. But right now there is no team the Bills could not compete with. Sully is just being Sully

We all have our own eyes and know the Bills as well as the media, if not more.

Glass half full vs. glass half empty. Narratives. Op/eds.

They may be able to tell us how they look in practice. Yet we can all see how they play in the games.

Nothing they say carries any real weight.

Wait, have OPiV and Sully ever been in the same room before? What about Sully and Marinora? Weird, I think they are the same person.

I have no problems with Sullivan, and not sure what the beef is because we've all noticed the wobble. If you actually read the piece he wrote, it was fine, it was pretty much what some of us have been noticing. I agree with it.

And I agree with what he said to Allen. Probably my only gripe, is that he failed to mold it into a question Allen could thoughtfully answer.

It's really not the same offense and it's hard (atm) to see them piling up points to go mano a mano with full throttle contenders. I'm honestly not sure what happens against Miami.

I still think Allen is not himself physically, Dorsey calls some odd plays, the receivers can't catch and the line struggles. But it's the same offense that rolled up to the bye with Allen on a pace to pass Peyton Mannings' passing yards record for a season. I mean something is wrong and it starts somewhere and you want to have hope or a feeling it's correctable and won't stay this way.

I can't pretend not to notice though.

Jay Skursky of BN asked basically the same question (i.e. not particular play, mkre overall level). But he's more detailed and led to Dorsey to give some meaningful answer. And Dorsey mentioned some QB decisions as part of the issue.

I just think a statement like "hey it is not superbowl level offense" is more like two fans talk during the game, after the game, in a bar, at home whatnot. It is not the right question to ask a player in press conference after game. To me, I want to get some insight of decisions, feel of the game stuff. Players are not going to do fan talks in those settings.

He's down to a once- per-year grab at attention. Last year, it was the Poyer/Hyde thing. This year, he tried with Allen. Josh's one word dismissal was beautiful.

Until he makes his dumb comments, people forget he's still around.

As far as being "right"...its the blind squirrel/broken clock/pick your cliche thing.

Say the same thing every week...be wrong 90% of the time...and the week in which things don't look so good, exclaim ""see, I was right!!"

It must be hell for him that the team is winning these days.

Except Trent Crimm actually framed questions. Like sukie said (http://www.billszone.com/fanzone/showthread.php/261955-Sully-s-at-it-again?p=4985586&viewfull=1#post4985586), "that is not a question. Really a blunder on Sully’s part. Frame it as a question. Josh responded perfectly to an <strike>amateur</strike> journalist fail at a question. “

Although Sully is far, far from an “amateur”. He stepped on his dick with that one.

I also don’t believe that one can say that “It’s not a Super Bowl offense”. WAY too early for that kind of cynicism.

The point is that the Bills are extremely capable of performing with a dynamic offense that is very dangerous. All that matters in the stretch run and in the playoffs is to perform at that level WHEN THEY HAVE TO.

If anyone doubts that Josh Allen can and will do so, they are not paying attention and are ignoring reality.

That's why I started the thread.

Seeing a 26 year old completely disarm a 64 year old man with an axe to grid was priceless.

Has the Bills offense been in a bit of a funk? Sure.

Is Josh Allen who you grill about it?

Mmm not so much. Kid leaves a pint of blood on the field every week.

It just tells me you don't really follow what he's been doing. He was actually excited and enjoying the Bills and Allen, and optimistic until they started wobbling, and like I said, his points were good, and I value the "correct" part more than who says it. If it's right, it's right.

I won't however, defend him for his "cheerleader" comments. That was stunning, and he got what he deserved for them.

I'm a fairly big free speech guy. You probably want some nasty voices out there regardless. In fact some of the superbowl Bills guys later admitted that what Jerry wrote inspired them to get better. There is a plateau for "self-motivation" for probably 99.9% of the players.

The current Bills has not reached the levels of those early 90s players. If they somehow get over the hump this year, I feel like we need some more criticism down the road.
