And the winner of the Lawyer Milloy sweepstakes is ... Buffalo. And maybe the AFC East, too.

Released by New England in a salary cap move Tuesday, the four-time Pro Bowl safety agreed in principle with the Bills on Wednesday afternoon, after a two-day bidding war that involved three teams.

Though the Bills disclosed no contract figures, their deal with Milloy is believed to be for four years, at $15 million, including a $4.75 million signing bonus and a $2 million base salary this season. The contract averages just more than $4 million per season.

"You feel good about these things when they're done,'' Bills general manager Tom Donahoe said. "Now we can turn our attention back to our huge game on Sunday and put the focus where it belongs.'' CLICK FOR MORE: (http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2003/football/nfl/09/03/milloy.bills/index.html)

Oh Clumpy....EB.... :D

What are the cap ramifications of this contract? Are we still under by enough to sign Winfield to an extension?

I think thats a good thing... either the coaching staff uses the talent right or we'll see changes.

Interesting to note (it was just on Empire) that the skins offered a 7 year deal and more money.

I bet Drew made a phone call :D

Imagine that. Cota decided not to play for the bills and Battles falls from the face of the earth and then we land Milloy as a result. Things seem to be falling our way.

Anyone hear if Jason Taylor got cut by the fins? :D

2004 - $3,887,500

2005 - $3,987,500

2006 - $3,937,500

I am totally loving the fact that TD grabbed this guy.
Mighty thanks to Drew for entiseing the lawyer to come to buffalo.
Do expect a great game on sunday. So sure it will be the best game I have ever attended since Kelly was the QB.

I expect this to one of the finest matchups, and at this point I would not be surprised to see some stations changing their national game for this.

TD is a magician. He needs to stop doing this because I'm getting to the point where the "In TD We Trust" thing is starting to make sense.

The Bills aren't the only ones who need to bring the lumber. The 12th man needs to bring it too!

Bills | Milloy Likely To Play In Patriots Game - from www.KFFL.com
Wed, 3 Sep 2003 14:56:10 -0700

Don Banks, of SI.com, reports Buffalo Bills president Tom Donahoe said there would be no decision on whether Bills SS Lawyer Milloy would play Sunday, Sept. 7 against the New England Patriots, Milloy's old team, until later in the week. However, Donahoe said all signs point to that outcome.
