Josh Allen says his elbow needs rest and recovery, not surgery

Bills quarterback Josh Allen was on the injury report for most of the second half of the season because of a right elbow injury, but Allen indicated today that the injury won't be an issue that affects his future.

Allen said that the elbow needs rest and recovery time, but that he and the team’s medical staff do not expect him to need surgery.

“It breaks your heart when someone leaves and you don’t know why.”

"It may be raining but there's a rainbow above you"

Former President Donald Trump early Thursday touted the results of a new NPR/PBSNewsHour/Marist poll showing him ahead of President Joe Biden by 8 percentage points among independents.

he will be fine. I really do believe these guys just burned out. Lots of crap the whole season. So much disruption and schedule changes. Emotional trauma to boot. Having the bye was needed. Rest and settling of the mind would have helped with an extra week

Josh Allen won’t need elbow surgery, endorses Ken Dorsey

Interestingly, Allen admitted that he made some mechanical adjustments to his throwing motion to accommodate the injury, which occurred in the Bills’ Week 9 road loss to the New York Jets on November 6. The injury seems to have affected Allen’s delivery for roughly two calendar months, as he also told reporters that he didn’t believe his mechanics got back to normal until the last couple of weeks.

Dorsey, who just finished his first year as Buffalo’s offensive play-caller with something considerably less than a bang, has been a target of fan consternation for most of the season as Buffalo’s offense has put up big numbers, but largely in fits and spurts. Allen went out of his way to re-affirm his commitment to working with Dorsey following his recommendation to promote him last offseason, despite the struggles on Sunday.

Of course he’s endorsing Dorsey. He’s not going to publicly trash his OC.

No. We got beat by a better team and we have a lot of work to do to catch them.

lol.....easy for you say as you didn't experience any of it. But I do agree with you with that sentiment. My opinion still is the same regardless of yours.

Not “trashing” and singing praise are two completely different things. There are many ways a media savvy player (and Josh is a very savvy media player) can avoid the question about any subject, if they have doubts or negative opinions, without “trashing” them.

It’s really easy. I have done it all my career when addressing competitors products. It’s a base skill in high level sales. And high profile players like Josh, are masters at it.

To come out with this kind of praise, smacks of compete honesty and a very strong endorsement for Dorsey. Trying to diminish it with the tired (and ignorant....as in none of us have literally any idea what Josh thinks besides what he says) with a sweeping "He’s not going to publicly trash his OC” is not credible and lacks common sense.

When a player, or coach talks in an interview, and they say something that the consumer of that information does not agree with, or goes opposite of their ignorant (again, in relation to not knowing) opinion is particularly self-serving baloney.

I strongly suspect that the opinion of what kind of job that Dorsey did in his first year as OC, is completely different within the Bills organization than the arm chair coaches and GM’s here.

Does not mean he does not get replaced this off-season (I suspect that those kinds of evaluations have not taken place yet) but if he stays, THAT will be proof of what they really think of him and his performance.

One way would be to actually have an offensive game plan like Cincy did and stick to it.
                Another would be to stop
being stubborn and have personel on the field on defense that can defend said game plan so they can no longer stick to it.

it’s hard to truly know what personel you have in certain spots when they are schemed improperly or worse, not at all.

The 1st thing I'm going to be paying attention to next season is Josh's throwing motion.

He just feel that for the most part he shortened it up to survive.

Not saying he didn't let it fly at times ..... but what it looked like after the injury I would call short arming it.

He has such a smooth throwing motion when he's 100% and that's the way he has to play.

Its management's job to surround him with the best OL we can possibly put together.

Keep him clean and his god given will take care of the rest.

It depends on what his trainers and MDs say.
Ryan Tannehill thought he didnt need surgery on a torn ACL and that an experimental treatment that worked for Kobe Bryant would be enough.

Different situations sure, but my point is that these guys dont always know whats best for them.
