Loos Like Oliver Want a Huge Payday!

It looks like Oliver is looking for a huge payday, I’m just not sure he performance justifies it!

In a now-deleted Instagram post, Buffalo Bills defensive tackle Ed Oliver, who is entering the final year of his rookie contract, seemed to have made his intentions clear in regards to a new deal.

I’m on the fence. He shows flashes of being dominating then disappears for games at a time.

He has great games then is invisible for 3 games. See what happens this season before any decision.

His fifth year option is done for this year, correct? That is a big number to try to unload.

His cap hit this year is $10.7 million. If traded the team would most likely redo his contract.

His contract year will be an improvement. I'd let him get overpaid somewhere else.

His best year was his rookie year. He seems like a guy who'll play his ass off for a contract then relax when he gets it. Take advantage of that then let him walk.

Re: Loos Like Oliver Want a Huge Payday!

Well if you base what he's getting on his 2022 production, he's getting:

4.3 million for each sack (2.5); or
535k for each solo tackle (20); or
nearly 1.2 million for each tfl (9) or
                        760k for each QB hit.

Good thing we don't have Chris Jones. If we had to pay him 4.3 million for each sack, he'd be owed over 66 million.

Re: Loos Like Oliver Want a Huge Payday!

Well, if he's not traded this off season and plays out the fifth year of his rookie contract, the Bills may get a compensatory pick in 2025 out of it. That might not be as good as a trade, but it would be something.
I've made up my mind. Don't confuse me with the facts.

I'm the most reasonable poster here. If you don't agree, I'll be forced to have a hissy fit.
