From the Rams.

In 16 games last season, Rapp made 92 tackles, two interceptions and six passes defensed.

He has played 57 games with 48 starts in his career, totaling 216 tackles, nine interceptions, 23 passes defensed, one forced fumble and three fumble recoveries.

Good signing I guess. 1 year deals are now the thing.

They need the depth at S. No issues.

Saw this on PFT. He is #72 on their top 100 list of NFL free agents. Had a meeting with the Patriots also. Sounds like a reasonable depth signing.

I was pretty surprised to see this. I thought he was a potential replacement for Poyer early in free agency and that someone would sign him as a starter. The secondary is looking really deep. I hope we invest all our draft picks at other positions now.

Solid signing, safety won't as quickly turn to s*** if Poyer or Hyde miss playing time.

Proven starter

Rapp brings a solid resume to the Buffalo Bills, having started 48 of 57 games since he entered the league in 2019. For his career, Rapp has 330 tackles, eight tackles for loss, and five quarterback hits with 1.5 sacks. He also has nine interceptions for 103 yards with one touchdown; 23 passes defended, one forced fumble, and three fumble recoveries.

Interesting. He's starting quality.

Nice. Hopefully a better option than Johnson or Marlowe.

Sure looks like the Bills are not going to re-sign Johnson or Marlowe.

Rapp has the potential to slide into the #4 S spot if Hamlin comes back. Still room to draft a S in the later rounds.

I think Johnson already signed with Vegas. I wouldn't rule out a safety early in the draft yet, we're going to need two new starters between now and '24-'25.

This guy was a starter in LA for 44 games. This is a quality signing and at 25 it is a potentially great signing. Probably a 1 year deal with the potential to resign with more cap space next season

Hyde's condition may be chronic. Poyer is no longer bulletproof and we don't have any sure heir apparent at the position.

The draft is chock full of safeties and I'd be surprised if we didn't still snag one in the middle rounds.

I think they like Jammie Robinson.

I like Daniel Scott late.

Don’t really see any downside to this signing. I like it a lot.

Maybe we will see some big nickel with 3 safeties.

I like this signing. Just watched some all 22 film of him on Cover 1. A solid tackler with great technique (something the Bills need badly).

Really surprised he took a one year deal…thought a team would have offered him more if an opportunity. But I’m glad we got him cause I’m sure he’ll see the field a lot. Both starting safeties are getting old.

Love it. Great injury insurance and puts a proven 25 year old in our system as as transition plan. All for under $2m and thereby no impact on compensatory picks. And severely lessens the need for a Day 1-2 safety

Almost seems too good to be true. Brandon Beane must have pictures of his agent with hookers in Vegas

If safety is suddenly set. And they like the RBs/WRs they have. They loaded up on low-cost o-line. And that ILB probably will not go in round #1 of the draft.... does this move defensive tackle to the possible first round pick?

LOL. Nice try.

Here you are with your Bijon Robinson: https://www.nfl.com/news/charles-davis-2023-nfl-mock-draft-1-0-panthers-pick-c-j-stroud-at-no-1-vikings-t

Would really love a LB in this draft. Must be a bad LB class. No firsts mocked

Nope. Bijon.

The chances of him falling anywhere close to #27 are between unlikely to very slim.

I have been saying for weeks now that IF by chance he DOES fall to #27, the Bills would be fools to not seriously consider picking him. Of course, what is THE overriding element is WHO IS ON THE BOARD WHEN #27 comes up.

WR is still the #1 priority. The two signings of Harty and Sherfield will hopefully pay off and are obvious replacements for McKenzie and Kumerow. The Bills started 2022 with six WR on the active 53 man roster.

Three of them are gone. Five (of probable 53) are under contract as of today....Diggs, Davis, Shakir, Harty and Sherfield. One spot remains open.
With Davis in his contract year and unknown if he is capable of holding the #2 WR spot (his shaky 2022 suggests no) and the obvious need for as many offensive weapons for Allen as the Bills can muster, and with at least six WR’s in this years draft that are capable of coming in with immediate impact (and the players on the roster that can allow him to be brought along slowly at the start of the season)....and the unmistakable advantage of having an offensive skill player with four or five years of cost controlled rookie contract....

WR in round one makes so much sense. Just like CB made so much sense in 2022 considering the state of that position.

ILB...IOL...DL...S...can all be addressed in later rounds, with the probability that ILB in round two could be a perfce fit (if say, Jack Campbell is there at #59).

It’s not that it’s a “bad” LB class. It’s just that there are not many top tier prospects that are expected to be worth a 1st round pick.

Drew Sanders seems to be the highest rated, and I have seen him mocked in the 1st round in some. I suspect that he will go before #27.

It’s time for the Bills to spend some draft capital on what will bring them closer to a Super Bowl..offensive skill players...especially at WR.

Agree with this. Bills need to groom the next generation (which ideally learns this year from Poyer/Hyde) which this signing does not address given it is a one year deal.

Just no clear standouts that would go in the first. At least at ILB. I saw a mock with the Bills taking Drew Sanders in the 2nd or 3rd (I forget). If this is anywhere near OBD's thinking then maybe they have targeted a different position now (after their free agent signings) for their first round pick. Perhaps DT rises to the top of the wish list where they are slotted to pick. Or, now, they are in a prime position to trade their #1 and get 2 or more assets for it.

Baylon Spector looked pretty good last preseason. It’d be nice if our answer is already on the roster.

I have the feeling this will turn out to be one of our most important signings.
