In a report shared on Monday by New York Upstate Bills writer Ryan Talbot (https://www.newyorkupstate.com/buffalo-bills/2023/04/buffalo-bills-have-eyes-on-moving-up-in-first-round-of-2023-nfl-draft-says-insider.html) (citing an ESPN Insider draft buzz story by Matt Miller (https://www.espn.com/nfl/draft2023/insider/story/_/id/36091678/2023-nfl-draft-buzz-rumors-latest-news-no-1-pick-qbs-prospects-risers-pro-day-stars-sleeper-picks#trades)) the Buffalo Bills and Brandon Beane may be preparing to move up in Round 1 of the 2023 NFL Draft to give quarterback Josh Allen more help on offense. The Bills only have six selections in this year’s draft, but rumors have begun to spread that Beane could try packaging a few of those picks to move up on the first night of the draft.

Buffalo Bills may be aggressive trading up in 2023 NFL Draft, per report - Buffalo Rumblings (https://www.buffalorumblings.com/2023/4/10/23677492/buffalo-bills-may-be-aggressive-trading-up-in-2023-nfl-draft-per-report-ryan-talbot-matt-miller-espn)

Dumb idea. There’s several holes to fill, and some that are pending after the coming season. Giving up capital
to add a single piece is only worth it if that piece is a QB.

the top 10 players are worth the tradeup. after those top 10, there isn't much in this draft. bunch of mid tier, maybe good maybe busts.

Beane cannot help himself with trading up. He'd try to trade up if he had the #1 pick

-this is a draft you either have a million picks and just hope you unearth some gold somewhere by chance, or you have a top 10 pick and you get a top tier player. there isn't much else here.

not a great year to get better through the draft. there will be little difference between a player picked at 15 and one at 50... it's all a crapshoot past the top guys this year.

Yeah that's what I've been hearing - either trade way up, or trade down and get as many darts to throw as possible

Secondly, remember that this is smoke screen season. We're officially in the don't believe anything window.

I think this would be great idea for the right player. An offensive player. Either WR or Bijan Robinson.

Will it happen? I doubt it. All depends on how the draft plays out, like every year. Last season NO ONE thought that the Bills would move up in the first round to get Elam.

Obviously, the Bills thought differently. They had their guy pegged and went and got him.

I could easily see the same thing happening this year, especially with a WR. The right WR could unlock the full potential of the offense, along with the additions they have already made.

As has been pointed out time and time again, THE reason the Bills were not as successful last year as we wanted is squarely on the offense.

The Bills lost every regular season game because of the offense. In each of the three losses, they had the ball in their hands at the end of the game with a chance to win. They failed every time.

In the playoff game vs Cincy, the OFFENSE came out like a limp dick, not responding to two Cincy TD’s, and instead going three-and-out twice to give the game away. It should have been a shoot out, instead the Bills were shooing blanks.

Scoring only 10 points in any NFL game is an almost assured LOSS. The facts are undeniable.

The Bills have to lean into their most potent weapon, Josh Allen, and give him all the weapons to fulfill his full potential. If moving up in the draft get us closer to that goal, I’m ALL for it.

When a team loses the defense failed to stop the opposition. Putting the offense in a position to need a winning drive.

a loss isn’t squarely on one side of the ball. Failing to stop Jefferson on 4th and long… big time killer.

Both of the lines have struggled under this regime. They inherited good players in the trenches on both sides of the ball but that has not been maintained.

These guys need to fix that problem more than they need to go after more skilled players.

Only way I’d be ok is if it’s for a sure fire can’t miss player on either side of the ball. I don’t think there’s many

Draft season is full of mental masturbation. Don't believe anything you read.

Moving up for anything outside a franchise QB is usually a waste of resources, and on top of that we like to jam square pegs into round holes. We moved up for Edmunds and he’s no longer here for a couple of reasons. We moved up for Elam who wasn’t ready to play like a first rounder.

Just stay where you’re at and draft best available…in the trenches. Those picks aren’t sexy or headline getters but if you hit, they go a long way towards success. And if we want Josh to avoid the Cam Newton career path, we need to do MUCH better on the O-line.

If these guys don't come away from this draft with the very best inside linebacker prospect then all of their coachspeak about how important the position is and how integral Edmunds was to the defense is all just bull**** rhetoric.

Guys. It’s a click bait article. Who would read “Bills plan to stay at 27.”

Your post is not exactly telling the full story in an honest way, is it??

It takes more than bumper sticker explanation, but intelligent posts require more words. If you (or anyone else) don’t want to read it, it’s your problem not mine. THIS is what really happened….

Yes, Justin Jefferson made an unbelievable, astounding catch on 4th down and 18. It is widely seen as the most amazing catch, certainly of the 2022 season, and some saying the most unbelievable one in years.

He did it against the Bills FOURTH string CB, Cam Lewis who, before that game had only 17 snaps and the Minny game was the most he was active with 79 snaps. Only 25 more snaps in every other game in 2022.

He had only 55 snaps on defense in all of 2021. To say he was inexperienced is a gross understatement.

The Bills best DB were all out of that game. Tre’ White – out. Micha Hyde – out. Jordan Poyer – out. Kaiir Elam – out. Here were the snap counts for the secondary in the Minny game….

Dane Jackson (backup) – 100%
Damar Hamlin (backup) – 97%
Christian Benford – (rookie) – 96%
Taron Johnson – 93%
Cam Lewis – (backup to the backup to the backup, mostly special teams player) – 95%

Against the team that had one of the most prolific passing games.

Despite those challenges the Bills defense came up BIG when it had to.

That drive that you cite to try to refute that the Bills OFFENSE was THE cause of that loss, with an absurd 4th down catch by Jefferson….you left out some critical context.

It happened with 2:00 min left in the game.

The Vikings did NOT score on that drive.

The Bills defense stopped the Vikings ON THE BILLS ONE YARD LINE COLD. ON 4th down with 41 seconds to play. It is FALSE to say “when a team loses the defense failed to stop the opposition” in the Minny game, because the Bill defense did, in FACT, stop them.

All the Bills had to do was a couple of kneel downs to seal the win.

The FAILED, miserably….giving up the go ahead TD on a fumble.

To the Bills’ offense's credit, they rallied to score a tying FG moving 69 yards in just 39 seconds to force overtime.

Minny gets the ball first and AGAIN the Bills defense comes up BIG and prevents a winning TD from being scored when the Vikes had a 1st down and goal from the Bills TWO YARD LINE.

Stuffing them on a run causing a 3 yard loss. And then sacking Cousins on 2nd down for a ten-yard loss. 3rd and goal from the Bills 15, incomplete pass and Vikes settle for a FG.

Bills get the ball and Allen’s legs do all the damage with an 18 yard run,. Then a 20 yard run. A couple of short passes to Diggs and the Bills are in great shape to, at the very least, extend the game and OT with a chip shot FG with the ball on the Vikes 20 yard line, 1st and 10.

The Bills impotence on offense is what loses the game. Next play, incomplete to Knox (who lined up as a wide out???).

And then the killer INT to hand the game to Minny….to Davis, a very bad pass by Allen. Ignoring Diggs on both plays, with no other offensive weapons of the field to take attention away from the only real offensive skill threat the Bills have.

They need more offensive weapons.

So, the FACT is that the Bills OFFENSE, had the ball with a chance to WIN THE GAME, not once but TWICE and ****ed it up.

Just like the offense had the ball with a chance to win in the other two regular season loses, and ****ed it up.

In the Cincy game in the playoffs, the Bills offense never showed up and ****ED IT UP ALL GAME.

Get more weapons and protect Josh that is all.
